Improving the Efficiency and Effectiveness of Business Processes
Georgia Tech Strategic Consulting (GTSC) empowers and engages key stakeholders to define current processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and design future state processes that are more efficient and effective. GTSC utilizes a seven-phase framework based on lean continuous improvement methodology, that can be used for any process, no matter the complexity or number of functions impacted. It is sufficient for both rapid and major improvement efforts:
- Rapid improvement events (often called kaizen events) are quick and intense two- to five-day sessions that achieve break-through process improvements through incremental changes. They are team driven, localized in nature, and the results are often felt immediately.
- A value stream improvement event is a major improvement to the entire end-to-end process (also referred to as a value stream). The improvement team includes a multi-disciplinary group made up of everyone who participates in, and is impacted by, the process across several areas and functions. The project can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months.
